I am the steady climb to the top of the hill...
3 months...this is quite possibly the longest break in my posts. I had resolved to write more frequently the last few times I posted, and my resolution seems to have failed miserably. Well, a new year, and of course, another attempt to resolve to write more often - let's see if I'm full of words this year or just full of it.
So first things' first...I guess it's fitting to say, HAPPY VERY BELATED HOLIDAY, and a belated birthday to Dana as well, who just celebrated this past weekend.
And now back to regularly scheduled programming...
It's not too much of a surprise that I have let the entries fall by the wayside, with all the wedding planning, work, holiday hoopla, and so many other things going on. And planning a wedding ain't no easy thang; it's definitely become the majority of our to-do's as of late. But it's important to take a break from all that stuff every once in a while, and writing has always been, well at least to me, a very relaxing and liberating hobby.
So what does one write about when the head is flooded with the aforementioned to-do's? Well, anything and everything will suffice for the moment. Maybe a more in-depth, thought-provoking entry will have to be posted at a later date. For now, it's time to just let thoughts flow and fill the page. You can always look back later and see what's been put down and edit if necessary...
I've found that I'm not taking to aging very well. A couple of months ago, my back gave out and I was completely unable to function. Such that I had to go to the doctor and get a shot and rest up for a few weeks before I could resume physical activity. And nowadays, the pain appears in different spots, still on the back, but not all in the same place, so it's not as if there's recurring injury there. I'm starting to be a little more limited physically than say, 10 years ago. In fact, I'm already more limited than I was 3 MONTHS ago...this frickin blows. BUT, as limited as I am starting to get, you see people who are constantly defying expectations of how we should be at a certain age. Take for example London's track coach...48 years old, and he leads them all when they do their warmup runs and does all of their drills. He limits himself when he knows he should take it easy, but he's still in peak condition. And as someone who's entire life is pretty much defined by activity, I have to follow that same type of approach. Just have to modify the routine a bit, but there is definitely more hope than their his hopelessness. So here's to really being like fine wine...
Eeeeend scene!
